It was reported in MSN on 21/12/2009 that there are 7 most talked about health issues in 2009. The seven issues are cervical cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, dental health, AIDS and H1N1. Out of the seven issues four of them are related to food intake either directly or indirectly and the individual lifestyles. The 4 issues are diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis and dental health. In Malaysia there are currently 1.2 million people with diabetes.
Dental health is always thought as a minor disease, has been a big worry as Malaysians have been ignoring the importance to look after their teeth and gum which will then lead to gingivitis, cavities and gum disease. With the 4 issues mentioned it is very clear that the Malaysians are in need of balance lifestyles.
It is always better to prevent than to cure, especially where chronic diseases are concerned. There is no cure for diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, osteoporosis and cancer. These diseases are related to lifestyle.
Another opportunity that we found is where people are so absorbed with busy schedules that they tend to neglect their health until an illness strikes. If an individual have a regular health checks, especially if you have a family history of diabetes and/or heart disease, or if you are overweight, allows for early detection and prevention. These diseases can also be prevented by changes in diet and lifestyle.
The final concern on the reason for introducing this service is that we are looking at the increasing number of working women. With so many women working, they have limited time to not only provide healthy dishes for the family but also for themselves. Not only that these women are too busy with their work that have made them having less time at home either with the family or a quality time for themselves.
Last but not least, it is not undeniable that anybody may describe himself as a busy individual be it males or females. The 24 hours seems never enough for the individual to fulfill their own well being.
